  • “The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid.” ― Jane Austen, Northanger Abbey ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I can't resist a secondhand book sale! Blog post about this one, held every Sunday at the Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne, coming up soon.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Read. This. Book. Poetry, power, parents, first love, friendships, siblings, sexuality, racism, and the male gaze. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This book covers so many important topics in such an engaging way. The book is written in verse, like a series of slam poems, and it works so perfectly balancing the plot and rhythm of the words.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you've read it let me know! If not, have you read a novel written in verse before?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Share your theories dear readers, why is Harry wearing a mouse hat?! ⠀
⠀
I found this love hardcover edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in Italian at a secondhand book sale recently. According to my lovely Italian followers who messaged when I shared it on my story it's the original cover art, but no one has yet been able to explain Harry's unusual choice of headgear!⠀
⠀
If you've read my goal setting blog post you'll know I've committed to only buying books secondhand or from independent stores this year, and this is a little accountability post to let you know it's going very well so far. If you haven't, you can read it now, link is in my profile.⠀
