  • Occasionally you read a book that is utterly brilliant. What was the last brilliant book you read?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Foreign Soil is a short story collection of enormous depth and insight - I highly recommend it. Masterfully written, the stories took me around the world, into the lives of characters each wholly unique in their perspectives, experiences and struggles.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
@maxinebeneba has a rare talent for capturing the speech patterns of a wide variety of people, there is something almost voyeuristic in some of the stories, because they feel so real. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • How beautiful is this creative space at @thinkthornbury?! Did you hear my BIG news?! I'm so excited and nervous and proud and feeling a LOT of feelings - which has only been exacerbated by reaching 30k today.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Thank you so much to everyone who has sent a message or commented their support. I appreciate it more than I can find words for today.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you hadn't heard: Tickets are on sale for my FIRST EVER in-depth creative journaling workshop! The class will be in Melbourne at the delightful @thinkthornbury on March 31st. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Link for more info and to book is in my bio.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There has been lots of interest, so I'm also looking into online workshop options!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • How do you take care of yourself & restore your creativity?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Feeling overwhelmed, burnt out or creatively blocked is something I see so many people talking about on instagram, and I experience regularly too. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But as creative people I think we need to talk more about the things we can do nurture ourselves, and not wait on moments of pure inspiration! This photo is an example of how taking time out to make a nice breakfast ended up inspiring a photo I am really happy with!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the spirit of celebrating creativity here are some non-bookstagrammers who I follow for inspiration:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
@makikohastings (pottery)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
@iamkristabel (fashion/travel)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
@grillodesigns (interiors)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
@alexandra_p_hobson (lifestyle)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
@kutovakika (photography)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Ps. I know my breakfast in bed posts are controversial because of the *gasp* crumbs! But I promise my tea + porridge with peaches combo is 100% crumb free.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

MOST OF ALL: To everyone who has supported and encouraged me over the past 4 years of Babbling Books, THANK YOU. Without all your kind words, questions and feedback I wouldn't have had the confidence to put myself out there like this. If ever there was a perfect time #tobravelyshare it was this.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you aren't in Melbourne (which is most of you, I know) I am looking into online workshop options - if there is enough interest! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • It's finally time for a bookshelf tour! Follow the link in my bio to watch the evolution of my shelves and get up close to them as I explain each section.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How do you arrange your shelves?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It has taken me a whole year to arrange mine like this, taking photos along the way and changing my mind so many times, but I love how they have turned out.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now to resist the temptation to change them again!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
PS. I've also included links in the video description to the other two tours I have made in previous houses. I think it's fascinating to see the evolution of my collection.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
